If you're not sure what accommodation type is right for you, here's more information about each of them:
Cape May’s B&Bs combine the charm of a historic setting with the modern amenities you want. Most are located in restored Victorian homes and, like the name says, include breakfast—either seated and continental. An on-site innkeeper makes sure your stay is comfortable and can help with vacation plans.
Best for couples, small groups, families with well-behaved children
Guest Houses are private homes that offer accommodations—either single rooms or suites. Most of Cape May's Guest Houses are in the setting of a historic house, so you can enjoy the ambiance of a B&B with the freedom of being at a hotel.
Like B&Bs, you’ll enjoy the benefit of a manager or innkeeper to assist with your stay, but you’ll have the independence to eat breakfast at your leisure at any of Cape May’s restaurants. Guest Houses offer amenities you would expect at a hotel, and many include kitchens or kitchenettes, making them a great option for families.
Cape May has a variety of hotels, from luxury oceanfront accommodations with on-site restaurants and bars, to historic Victorian-era inns, to affordable Beachfront motels with swimming pools—perfect for family vacations.
The hotels along Beach Avenue are situated across from the ocean, many with views of the Atlantic from your room. Most Cape May hotels offer modern conveniences like upgraded bathrooms, on-site parking, wireless internet, and cable TV.
If you're looking for a more affordable way to visit the shore or prefer the outdoors, Cape May has a number campground facilities to choose from just before you get into town. You can make your adventure as rustic as you like or, if you prefer "glamping," take advantage of the many full-service amenities Cape May area campgrounds have to offer, including swimming pools, recreation rooms, fishing, and internet access in a natural setting.
Why leave your pet at home? A family vacation need not be without the most important member of the family. Be it a guest house or hotel, Cape May has a wide selection of pet-friendly places to stay. Almost all pet-friendly accommodations take dogs, and some take cats and dogs. Many have restrictions regarding the weight of the dog and the number of pets which can be accommodated.
Have a big family? Want a longer stay? Like the cozy feel of home? The vacation house rental is ideal for reunions, weddings and family gatherings.
With all the amenities of home, and plenty of room to spread out, this is the next best thing to owning a home on the Island.
