World Renowned Artist Josef Kote in Stone Harbor to Unveil “Water”

Internationally acclaimed artist, Josef Kote, will debut an unparalleled collection of original, new paintings, inspired by the South Jersey coastline, in his limited-engagement exhibit, “Water,” at Ocean Galleries in Stone Harbor, NJ, June 29th to July 5th. Rare in-person receptions with the artist are scheduled for Saturday July 1st and Sunday July 2nd from 7:00 to 10:00pm each evening.

“These are the best paintings I’ve ever seen,” says Kim Miller, who’s owned and operated Ocean Galleries for over 35 years. “This is really special. With this exhibit, we are bringing something to this area that is so unique and unusual.”

With new paintings created specifically for the Ocean Galleries exhibit, “Water” features paintings that depict actual Cape May County beaches that Josef Kote visited last summer. Eagle-eyed patrons will recognize local landmarks and surroundings throughout the exhibit. “Water” is an extraordinary opportunity to experience familiar vistas through the eyes of an artist who’s explored the globe and painted some of the world’s most beautiful, mythical, and sought-after landscapes.

Ocean Galleries is one of only three galleries in the nation, and the only one in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic area, that Kote hand-picked to represent his work. With a career spanning 30 years, he is revered by art lovers and collectors around the world, his technique is studied in art schools across Europe, and his paintings have won numerous awards, the most recent being the Outstanding Acrylic Award from the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society of America. Kote has earned the prestige to choose exactly where and how his work is shown.

Known for his genius with color, and mastery of technique, Kote combines dripping rivulets, gentle brushstrokes, and bold swipes of a palette knife, to create paintings that are like water itself; impossible to quantify. They are realistic, and thoroughly impressionistic. They soothe and stir. They are modern, and utterly timeless.

In addition to coastal landscapes, the “Water” exhibit will also feature five of Kote’s paintings inspired by Philadelphia landmarks and cityscapes. Similar to the coastal seascapes, these Philadelphia paintings vibrate with color, energy, and a singular artistic vision.

The limited engagement “Water,” will include new, original paintings, as well as a carefully curated selection of additional Josef Kote artwork. Paintings will be on exhibition and available for acquisition throughout the exhibit, which is free and open to the public. Artist receptions are also open to the public, though RSVP is requested.
