Hali MacLaren is an ocean inspired silver jewelry maker. Although she is from West Chester, PA, Hali draws much of her inspiration from the rich biodiversity of the Jersey Shore, especially from her favorite shore town, Cape May. She is fascinated with the many species of land and sea creatures that find their way to Cape May to reproduce and feed as they pass through on their yearly migrations. Shells from the Atlantic are molded and cast in solid metal; beach stones and sea glass are also used to create one of a kind wearable art. “Being able to use found objects from the beaches of Cape May in my work brings me so much joy,” says Hali. “I create my jewelry to evoke a sense of wonder for the marine environments I grew up loving.” Each piece is designed to last for generations and can be worn as the perfect keepsake to remind you of your favorite times on the beach.
Hali is very passionate about protecting the ocean adding, “My collectors share my connection to the sea and agree with my efforts to conserve it. I use eco-friendly, recycled, or recyclable raw materials and packaging for my heirloom quality products and give back a portion of my yearly sales to organizations like the CM Nature Center who work to protect the seas.”
