This month, Cape May Jazz Vespers welcomes The River Guides on Sunday, 9/15 at 3pm.
Featuring the original music of guitarist /composer Steve Girardi, his current group “The River Guides” features a stellar lineup with longtime bandmates drummer Mark Graham, bassist Andy Lalasis, and virtuoso flugelhornist Bob Ferguson. The combination of these talented musicians produce an exceptional jazz, world music quartet with nuance, inspiration and passion.
The group has been performing Steve’s original music in the New York metropolitan area for over three decades releasing two critically acclaimed CD’s “Within Inside” and “Blue Sky With Tears”. The band has a new album coming soon currently in production.
This very special Cape May concert marks the first time in 40 years that Steve and Mark are both performing together in the shore area, a place where they performed so regularly in the 1980’s.
