Cape May’s Annual Independence Parade

Cape May’s annual Independence Parade was held Saturday, July 3rd.  The parade commenced at 1pm outside of Convention Hall on Beach Avenue.  Parade participants included bands, antique cars, fire engines, costumed performers, local groups and organizations, and members of the US Armed Forces.

All this and Berries too!

If your yard is a typical southern New Jersey somewhat sandy soil with some oaks here and there, blueberries (Vaccinium corymbosum) just might fit the bill. This tasty, succulent fruit will thrive in almost any kind of soil as long as it is acid.

Wine Tasting for CCA at Whalers’ Cottages

An elegant evening was held at the 18th-19th century Whalers’ Cottages on Batts Lane for the Center for Community Arts. Hosts  Chris and Dave Clemans held a wine tasting event featuring Argentine wines paired with grilled meats and fresh local seafood which was catered by the Washington Inn.

St. Mary’s 100th Anniversary

St. Mary-by-the-Sea celebrated its 100th anniversary at Cape May Point the weekend of June 4-6.. Water temps rising!

Fishing is heating up here in Cape May and so are the offshore water temps! Water temperatures from the South Poorman’s to the Washington are up to approximately 80 degrees creating a good fishing environment. Flag Day
