The City of Cape May and specifically the Cape May Beach Patrol, played host to the U. S. Lifesaving Association’s lifeguard competition. The 4-day event featured top talent from as far away as California and Florida as well as South Jersey, New York and Delaware. The photos here are just a sampling of the many dramatic competitions that took place on the beaches between Congress Street and Broadway. The dedication of the participants and officials, supported by the sponsorship of Union Bay and many Cape May businesses made August 3rd through 6th memorable days for all of us in Cape May
