Shorebird and Horseshoe Crab Celebration Days
From May 11-May 19, join The Wetlands Institute for Shorebird and Horseshoe Crab Celebration Days – a commemoration of one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles: the annual horseshoe crab spawning and mass migration of shorebirds. Ideal for nature enthusiasts of all ages, guests will enjoy a variety of special programs and hands-on education and conservation-based activities here at The Wetlands Institute and at local beaches along the Atlantic Coast and Delaware Bay. Take part in a horseshoe crab survey or rescue walk, join our guides for shorebird viewing experiences and birding walks (beginners encouraged!), hop on a pontoon boat for a sunset cruise in the back bay marshes, or check out one of our special shorebird and horseshoe crab workshops and presentations.
Purchase a ticket for Celebration Days and you’ll also get free admission to the Institute on both weekends – perfect for checking out our regular weekend programs (with a Celebration Days twist, naturally!). Help feed our aquarium animals, take part in a seasonal science activity, or get up-close with a variety of creatures during one of our Creature Features. Our Shorebird and Horseshoe Crab Celebration Days has something everyone!
