Despite the cold, record numbers turned out to view the 45th Annual West Cape May Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 4th. Crowds lined the streets from the parade’s beginning at Broadway in West Cape May to its end on Carpenters Lane in Cape May. Photographs by Jennifer Brownstone Kopp

Convention Hall Demolition

Demolition began on November 29 on Convention Hall and the Solarium, making way for a new $10.5 million hall slated for opening spring of 2012. By the end of the week, the buildings were down. Inside: Demolition photo gallery and remembrances of Convention Hall from two former mayors.

Remembering the “new” Convention Hall

It was a time when the city had no Convention Hall due to the previous one having been washed away in a storm when Dave Teel, our city manager, came to me and said, “Mayor, how would you like to have a new Convention Hall?”

3rd Annual Jazz Brunch Aids Animal Outreach

The Merion Inn hosted the 3rd Annual Jazz Brunch for Animal Outreach Sunday Nov. 21. Jazz and animal; lovers joined together to enjoy a hot southern-style brunch and cool jazz with jazz pianist George Mesterhazy, vocalist Paula Johns and friends providing the entertainment. Congress Hall’s Tree Arrives

Congress Hall’s Christmas tree arrived on Friday from a private property in North Cape May on a flat bed truck. A crane was brought in to help place the tree into place as well as lots of man power. The tree is over 30 feet tall.
