Be careful when driving in Cape May this year! Last fall, the maximum speed limit for all streets under Cape May City’s authority was dropped to 20mph—and it’s even lower for others. The Mt. Vernon hotel closed out their final season in October 2021. In March of this year, they announced on Facebook that they would not be reopening and held a contents sale. The motel has since been demolished and the lot is for sale as either a commercial or two residential lots.
