The new Pier House Restaurant is unofficially open. The Andy family hosted an invitation-only celebration last night for scores of Cape May locals and a few special guests who joined in the preview opening. In the Greek tradition of breaking plates, Vasiliki Andy smashed one on the floor at the conclusion of the ceremony, symbolizing the end of the old and a welcome to a new life for the restaurant.
The bright decor embellishes the familiar floor pattern of the Pier House’s previous rendition, but with a much larger overall space and widely expanded bar. With a central entrance leading to a hostess station, diners can head left to the bar area and outside patio, or right to the sunny dining room.
The Pier House has been closed since 2017 when the LaMer began undergoing a major addition to the hotel accommodations, adding some 18 new suites above the totally rebuilt restaurant.
The Pier House’s official grand opening is Friday, June 28th. For reservations, call (609) 898-2244.
