Cape May’s Oktoberfest took place this past Saturday, September 28th. The weather was generous with sunshine as plenty gathered down Carpenter Lane and Jackson Street from 9am-6pm for this German themed festival.

There was no shortage of German inspired food, drink, and entertainment along with a sea of unique vendors selling crafts and collectibles. This community affair benefitted local small businesses as well as vendors that traveled for the event.
Doreen Talley, Executive Director of the Cape May Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cape May and event organizer, was pleased to see another Cape May Oktoberfest result in a day of fun for visitors and locals alike. “By all account another successful event. We welcomed approximately 8500 visitors”, Doreen told us.

Doreen continued to express gratitude to all who contributed to the day’s success. “We must thank the people who make this event a must for the Fall Season in Cape May. The Cape May Police Department, Public Works Department, Festival Sponsors Carney’s, Delaney’s, Port Cape May, Taco Caballito, and The Ugly Mug. The craft, artisans and business vendors that sell their wares and the visitors that come and enjoy what we offer them for choosing to spend their day with us! A big shout out to the staff and volunteers at the Cape May Chamber who work tirelessly for the festival. See you in September next year.”
