Here is just a sampling of the floats and bands that marched in the West Cape May Christmas parade this year. The parade included everything from the U. S. Coast Guard band to local hero and baseball star Matt Czszur of the San Diego Padres. Dozens of fire fighting units were peppered in with floats and string bands. There were dancers who stopped to perform and even dogs and horses in what may have been the longest and most memorable event in the parade’s 52 year history. It ended with Santa crossing Ocean Street high atop his fire engine being preceded by the LCMR marching band. And the weather? It was just cold enough to be wintry but not as uncomfortable as it often has been in the past..
